Teeth in 1 day by CEREC at Dentzz – One Visit Dentistry

CEREC is a very latest technology that we use at Dentzz Dental Care Centres, to create your ceramic crown, veneer, inlays/onlays or any porcelain restoration in the clinic in as less as an hour approximately. CEREC stands for Chair-side Economical Restoration for Esthetic Ceramics or is even known as CEramic REConstruction. CEREC works with a 3D tomography machine and Computer assisted technology to create or restore your teeth with perfect precision without having to pay multiple visits to the clinic.

Instead of taking a conventional impression by putty or alginate to make a model of your existing tooth shape, our highly trained dentists in India at Dentzz take a ‘Digital Impression” using a wand camera. The image is then converted into a 3D computer model, which is used as a guide to design your new tooth/ crown/ veneer etc. Once our cosmetic dentist is happy with the design of the restoration, this data is sent to an onsite-milling machine, which fabricates your new tooth from a high quality ceramic block. Using 3-D image and specialized software, the technology is able to calculate the exact dimensions of each tooth to be restored; this eliminates the trial and error associated with conventional restorative dental work.

At DENTZZ we offer you a unique and comprehensive dental experience unlike any other by using cutting edge technologies like CEREC.

CEREC is the most advanced and precise way to restore the look and function of your teeth. It uses a ‘High Definition Camera’ to capture the dimensions of your teeth instead of conventional methods of impression making.

Here are the common questions about CEREC reconstruction that patients have:

A conventional ceramic Crown/ Veneer usually requires multiple visits to the dentist. One visit is needed to make a mold of the patient’s mouth, another to seat a temporary as well as for trials of permanent restoration and final sitting to fit the permanent crown/ veneer or any ceramic restoration. However, with CEREC, the whole process can be done in a single visit. Patients can even watch as the CEREC machine shapes their new crown or veneer.

  • Is there any pain or discomfort related to CEREC crown or veneer?

Because CEREC is a relatively quick procedure, it is inherently not painful at all. As fewer sittings are required for fixing the restoration; less time sitting with your mouth held open, lesser discomfort from an ill- fitting temporary, and less tugging and pressure to get the permanent replacement in place all add up to a far less painful experience. Also, with a CEREC procedure, fewer injections are needed because the number of appointments reduces, and also the amount of drilling is minimized.

  • What is the CEREC tooth replacement made of, which material and how is it made?

A CEREC restoration is created on the spot by a high-precision scanner that scans the image of the patient’s mouth to create an excellent replica of the original tooth. In most cases, restoration or replacements are created within an hour, rather than requiring nearly a week in the conventional method. Materials used for CEREC crowns/veneers/inlays/onlays include ceramic, porcelain and other resins.

Advantages of CEREC

  • Fewer appointments required
  • Virtually pain-free nature of the procedure
  • Accuracy of the restoration compared to the conventional way of making them
  • Predictable results

With traditional crowns, the longest part of the process is usually waiting for the actual crown to be fabricated, which usually takes anywhere from a few days to several weeks. However, using a CEREC, the tooth is milled right in the dental office. Instead of having to wait for a crown and come back for another appointment to have it placed, one can have the tooth in as little as an hour’s time.
